Cricket in the 21st Century

It is often said that we may only be a small race, but thereís divinity in our cricket. Since the inception of this game, it has come a long way. With hosts of events taking place, the game of Cricket has developed at every stage. Cricket in the 21st Century is a modernized version of what our forefathers have played during the late 18th century, 19th century and even the 20th century. The cricket lovers all over the world have witnessed some of the major incidents through the history of cricket.

This second most popular sport in the world has seen some major changes in the rules and laws pertaining to One day International matches. Continuing with the process of development, Cricket world has to witness various amendments and innovations. The two big events (World Cup of 2003 and 2007) have already taken place which offered plenty of entertainment and memorable incidents to the cricket lovers. If you consider the Cricket in the 21st Century, it has done much about Cricket and increasing its popularity.

The ICC introduced the Test and One-day International Championship Table which was consistently topped by Australia. 21st Century Cricket has seen a major emphasis on producing more national teams capable of challenging at Test level. In the beginning of this century ICC has expanded its Development Program focusing its attention on inviting more African and Asian nations in this game. The ICC Intercontinental Cup in 2004 brought first class cricket to 12 nations, mostly for the first time. A wonderful innovation in the Cricketing History, which took place in the 21st Century Cricket is Twenty20 event. The Cricket lovers have accepted this form of the game and appreciated by the world. Cricket in the 21st Century experienced some wonderful cricketing displays in the World cups along with some future plans. The world cricket may anticipate certain changes in the rules of the game further with some prospects for U.S and China joining the world cricket.
