Bradman's Best

Donald Bradman was undoubtedly the greatest cricketer tat the game has ever witnessed. Sir Donald Bradman saw more cricket than anyone else in the 20th century. He personally watched virtually all the best cricketers from all the major playing nations, as well as both playing in and selecting Test sides from 1928 to 1971, giving him an unprecedented appreciation of the best the sport had to offer. In this book Bradman's Best, Sir Donald Bradman shares his thoughts with his biographer, Roland Perry, on the world's best cricketers, his greatest ever team and why he chose its members. Roland Perry's association with Sir Donald Bradman stretches back to the mid-1990s.

As Perry tells it, they subsequently discussed Bradman's ideas on his greatest team drawn from a pool of names submitted by Perry, but in deference to Bradman's weariness with publicity his selections were announced posthumously in book form. So Bradman's Best, consists of a description of the selection process and an essay on each of the twelve players in the team.

In "Bradman's Best" Bradman's thoughts have been interesting penned down and also his views About Cricket. Perry's reverential approach turns the process into Moses bringing down the tablets from Mount Sinai. To Perry, Bradman is without spot or stain that is reflected in his writing. As a selector, Bradman is presented as sagacious, prescient and fearless, but his work is never subjected to any critical scrutiny.

As well as Bradman's compelling revelations and thoughts on cricket's most celebrated exponents and the way the game has developed over the decades. Added to this he had a skill of judging a cricketer's capacities and talents that was second to none. Bradman retained all the detail of every match - from the trivia to the humorous moments - and he never lost the ability to distill it all with quite extraordinary perspective. The book is divided up into chapters first concerning the Selector, then the team and then detailed explanation's of each player in his team. Bradman's Best ensures to add much knowledge About Cricket and is one of The Best of Cricket Books.
