The name Sachin Tendulkar is so big in the world of Cricket that it needs no introduction. This 5 feet 5 inches tall man has the biggest stature in the game of Cricket. Today Sachin will make the League debut at Wankhede Stadium.
This is the same ground from where Sachin Tendulkar has evolved from a wonder boy to a legend. Today the stadium will see its son playing the shortest format of the game. All the roads in Mumbai will lead to the Wankhede Stadium today as all Sachin fans will throng the stadium.
Tendulkar missed the first half of the tournament due to a right groin injury. Sadly for India, Sachin never got to play enough of T-20 matches. Till date he has represented India only once.
The most interesting thing is that Sachin is making the debut at the age of 35. Many players who have failed to perform in T20 have been declared forgotten players but Sachin is the man who has inbuilt killing instincts. He can perform wonderfully in tests as well as the ODIs. Here is the chance to prove himself in T20 as well.
Sachin is a naturally attacking batsman, who creates run-scoring opportunities rather than waiting for them. He has the ability to smash the ball as and when needed moreover he is an expert in his ability to rotate the strike and build partnerships. Sachin can well emerge as the best T-20 cricketer and can bombard the balling side with his mighty sixes!
Talking about today’s match, apart from Tendulkar and Dhoni trying to outsmart each other, the match will also bring forward the most devastating opening pair of Tendulkar and Sanath Jayasuriya. Which team can NOT be under pressure in front of such mighty opening pair?
Things have changed for both sides since the teams met last time. A resurgent Mumbai clinched three straight victories and now Tendulkar is ready for the action. Chennai is at third place on the points table behind the Rajasthan and Delhi.
Despite having two extra games in hand, Mumbai needs at least five victories from their remaining seven games to earn a semi-final berth while Chennai need two wins from five games to qualify. Both the sides are fighting like warriors. Let’s see who blinks first today when Tendulkar will come with the willow in hand! So enjoy the game of Cricket when there is a cry in whole Mumbai – “Sachin aala re!”
