Cricket Blog

June 06, 2008 By: KISHORE3257 Category: Play and Win, Reviews and Previews No Comments →

Cricket blogs are as new and fresh as the recently concluded T20 league was. The “manoranjan ka baap” delivered not just entertainment but also gave birth to the spicy exciting blog writing across India.

With all the mighty sixes and boundaries of the league these blogs have been successful in making their own records in terms of viewers. Cricket blogs are the latest addition to the various platforms where cricket is discussed.

Blogs are the melting pots of all the feelings related to the great game of cricket. Be it joy, anger, excitement or the cry of HOWZAATT! Cricket blogs are growing much in popularity among all the cricket lovers.

More and more people are turning to their favorite blogs to get the first hand information of the game. In last few days the whole net was overflowing with blogs giving information on particular players, teams, umpires or the matches or the latest controversies.

The IPL had become a part of everyday life now the sudden absence of live action has created a kind of entertainment crisis. This crisis is being averted by millions of fans by visiting good quality blogs.

The interesting reading coupled with the candid expressions makes the blogs all the more interesting. Cricket blogs have emerged as a new platform where fans can express their views without acquiring any expertise over the game.

In a magnificent way the T20 cricket has replaced the oldest version of cricket- the test cricket, in the same way newspaper reading has given space to the blogs. This is especially true in the case of youngsters who sit online to read blogs for long hours and leave the newspapers on dad’s breakfast table.

Now when the dust has settled over the League with the lights gone out, still there is an interesting thing to do, that is, to read the cricket blog of www.warofcricket.com. After the completion of the T20 league the heart beats have returned to normal but everybody is feeling a horrible vacuum at primetime on television.

At such a time www.warofcricket.com blog offers a fresh air. With all the ‘K’ series serials getting back in action, the missing dose of cricket action can be tasted on the cricket blog of this site.

Read the lively full of spirit cricket blog that gives ball by ball, over by over analysis of not just T20 league but also of all the upcoming series like Asia cup. So if you are a cricket enthusiast then this is the right place and right cricket blog to get the in-depth knowledge of the wonderful game.

Along with the one of the best blogs, this site offers the chance to the readers to register free with the site and leave your opinion on the all matches being played and the forth coming matches as well. So why to miss this chance of seeing your opinions online! Enjoy the game! Happy cricketing and happy blogging!

Mumbai Vs Chennai - Preview

May 14, 2008 By: Rohini Verma Category: Play and Win, Reviews and Previews No Comments →

Mumbai is facing Chennai today evening in a competition that is expected to be a thriller. The Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar is making his league debut in this match! The presence of Tendulkar in the team is a morale booster for Mumbai team.

The Wankhede Stadium will unfold another T20 mystery today evening when both the teams will try to grab the victory to survive in the tournament. The Mumbai team will play under their third captain in eight games. Moreover Tendulkar’s fitness is still a concern.

It will be difficult for Tendulkar to perform up to the mark after weeks of rest and rehab. Chennai bowlers know this and will try to draw maximum benefit from the limited overs. They will certainly not give Tendulkar the easy breathing space.

The batting icon can be more useful if he sticks to the crease and gives the strike to the other stroke players who are already in form. Partnership between Tendulkar and Sanath Jayasuriya or players like Pollock, Uthappa and Abhishek Nayar will prove helpful in pushing up the scoring rate.

But many cricket experts believe that Shaun Pollock has performed well as captain and led the team to victory in last three matches. So even today if Pollock acts as captain that would be more beneficial for Mumbai. After a working relationship has been established between Pollock and team members the players are being asked to follow a new leader. It may cost the team dearer!

On the other hand the Chennai team does not have any plans of changing the batting order at the top. Stephen Fleming and S. Vidyut are playing well and Suresh Raina is getting good runs at number three so the similar players will come on the crease with a better resolve to fight a team with Tendulkar as captain. Much will depend on the performance of Dhoni as well.

Chennai looks stronger as compared to Mumbai but nothing can be predicted in T20 so let’s hope that presence of the game’s great player on Mumbai’s side proves beneficial for the team.

Teams (from):
Mumbai: Sachin Tendulkar (Capt.), Sanath Jayasuriya, Shaun Pollock, Robin Uthappa, Yogesh Takawale, Dominic Thornley, Abhishek Nayar, Dhawal Kulkarni, Rohan Raje, Ashish Nehra, Dwayne Bravo, Saurabh Tiwary, Ajinkya Rahane.

Chennai: M.S. Dhoni (Capt.), Stephen Fleming, S. Vidyut, Suresh Raina, S. Badrinath, Albie Morkel, Joginder Sharma, L. Balaji, M. Muralitharan, M Ntini, P Amarnath, S. Anirudh, Chamara Kapugedera, Parthiv Patel.

How to Play:

What happens when you are watching a live ODI between India and Australia and all of a sudden your favorite player is knocked out or he drops a very significant catch? You wish it had not happened, you spontaneously utter “Wish I was the captain, wish I could select the team”. Once you are ready to control the team of International stars just log in and you will become the “All Mighty Selector”. Select 11 warriors with one super sub for your war of cricket! As per the rules you have to select four leading batsmen, who you feel will bring your team to the top. These experts of bats will be accompanied by four bowlers. Finally select one wicket keeper and two all rounder players.

Selection of Captain:

The most important selection is of the captain of your team. You have to be extra vigilant while making this selection because the points he earns (excluding bonus points) will be doubled.

Each player has a rating which is provided by WarofCricket.com. Higher the rating, higher will be the ranking of the batsman. You have 1100 points so you need to select players within your rating budget.

Another important point to remember is that the same player can not be selected in more than one category. For example Adam Gilchrist can not remain in same team as a batsman and as a wicket-keeper both. It should be one or the other not both.

Substitution is also allowed not only for the test matches rather for ODI s and 20-20 matches as well. The game will be locked 30 Minutes before the start of the new match. So you need to make the changes before this time.

Your exciting experience does not end here rather war of cricket has more to offer- your players’ scores and bowling figures will be updated with every ball in the live matches.

Rules of war of cricket

Rules of war of cricket are not different from the real game of cricket so the standard cricket rules will apply on this game too. Your dream team will bat for the maximum of 50 overs. Score of your team will depend heavily on the selected players so be careful while selecting the players.

Runouts will be considered as wickets. Only the player who dislodges the bails will be given the points for the run out.

In case you go for the substitutes then substitutes will take on the bowling and batting order of the player they are going to replace. While deciding the substitute you have to be clear that if that player does not participate in the live match due to any reason in that case you will not be allowed to use that player in war of cricket. Scoring points of various players in War of Cricket will be:

2 points per run taken.

50 points per wicket taken.

10 points per catch grabbed by any fielder other than Wicket Keeper.

20 points for every dismissal by the Wicket-Keeper (Catch or stumping).

10 points per run-out (All fielders including Wicket Keepers)

Bonus points will also be available for the following:

10 points for the player who gets a three-wicket haul.

20 points for the player who gets a five-wicket haul.

10 points for players who make a half-century.

20 points for the players who score century.

10 points for every 6.

5 points for every 4.

-50 points for players who are out for a duck (0).

Points for dismissals by Wicket Keeper are awarded to the player “wearing the gloves” at the time of the dismissal.

Substitute players who take catches, do stumpings or run-outs will score appropriate points for each dismissal.
