When we search through the pages of Cricketing History we definitely come across some of the legendary players whose contribution in the game of cricket cannot be ignored. As the game of cricket started developing in the 19th and 20th century, the sport started to find out the hidden talents of the players engaged in this gentleman’s game. Courtney Walsh is one of the Best Fast Bowlers in Cricket, who has always been the inspiration for the upcoming bowlers.

This Jamaican right arm fast bowler represented the West Indies from 1984 to 2001 and captained the country in 22 Test matches. The cricket world still remembers him as a wonderful bowler Courtney Walsh.

The name of Courtney Walsh is best known for holding the record of most Test wickets which was later broken by Muttiah Muralitharan. Courtney Andrew Walsh made his Test debut against Australia in Perth in 1984, taking 2 wickets for 43 runs. Keeping up the legacy of the West Indian Fast Bowlers,
Courtney Walsh started of in his journey to become one of the Cricketing Legends. During the initial stages of his career, he ha the privilege of bowling with the legendary bowlers like, Marshall, Joel Garner, Holding, etc. although he did not generate that amount of pace like them, yet he was a consistent performer.

If you consider he names of the famous cricketer who have made the cricket lovers boast much about cricket, the name of Courtney Walsh must come in the top. This athlete form Jamaica was known for his ability to bowl over very long spells. This 6ft 6” tall fast bowler can sometimes be unpredictable as he was able to extract nasty bounce. Holder of 519 wickets in 132 test matches, he has always been the idol for many budding speed stars. Courtney Walsh of West Indies did a lot in improving the county cricket, as he himself played for Gloucestershire for more than 13 years. Apart from winning the Wisden’s cricketer of the year, he has bagged multiple other awards too.
