Don Bradman

One of the most exciting sports which the people play is the game of cricket. It is widely regarded as one of the most elegant sports which mankind has created. Although it is not as popular as football, the sport of cricket boasts of a considerable number of fans in countries like India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, England, South Africa, Australia, etc. The country of Australia has dominated the world of cricket on the field for a great number of years and continues to do so till date.

This Australian dominance of the game has been possible because of players like Don Bradman. The details about Don Bradman and about cricket are given below.

The cricket player Don Bradman, by a great margin, is the best batsman that the sport of cricket has ever seen. He was the most prolific batsman to have played test cricket.
By the time he was done playing for Australia, he boasted of a test batting average of 99.94 which meant theoretically meant that he would score a century every time he went out to bat for Australia in test matches. When Bradman was playing, the shorter form of the game, one day internationals, was not introduced. So we have no idea how he would have fared in that format of the game. Don Bradman played a total of 52 test matches and scored 6996 runs with the help of 29 centuries and 13 half centuries.

The career of Don Bradman never had a downside to it. He was always in top batting form whenever he played cricket. That is one of the most remarkable things about his cricket. The closest anyone has come to matching his reputation as a batsman is the great Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar. Even during the infamous Bodyline series, Bradman boasted of a batting average of more than 50 during the test series played against the English. The man was also one of the most successful Australian captains. He is one of the true cricketing legends which the sport can boast of.
