SCG - Sydney Cricket Ground is a sports stadium in Sydney. In 1851, land was granted to the British Army for use as a garden and cricket ground for the soldiers. This area became known as Moore Park, location for cricket matches in Sydney. The New South Wales Cricket Association upgraded the cricket ground in Moore Park. The first game of cricket was played in 1877. The Sydney Cricket Ground hosted its first Test match in 1882, when Australia played England in the sixth ever played Test match.

The Ground gradually grew with more stands being added and did better and better. The importance of the The Sydney Cricket Ground for Australian Cricket and New South Wales Cricket kept on increasing.

The Bradman Stand came up in 1973. The new Sydney Cricket Ground Trust allowed women to become members of the ground in 1974 and modern floodlights were installed in 1978. The Sydney Cricket Ground is a playing field surrounded by a collection of separate grandstand structures. From the northern end, clockwise, they are:

Ladies' Stand - Members seating. Built 1896
Members' Stand - Members seating. Built 1878

Earlier on, the pitches at Sydney Cricket Ground were regarded on as favorable for batsmen though the later view is favorable to spinners and classy batsmen.
